Following the recent escalation in Aleppo, HAND Organization initiated an emergency humanitarian response targeting civilians affected by forced displacement and worsening humanitarian conditions in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods.

HAND field teams commenced operations in proximity to frontline areas, delivering life-saving assistance to newly displaced populations. Immediate interventions included the provision of safe drinking water and heating support to hosting and displacement centers, aimed at mitigating protection risks and improving minimum living conditions, particularly for vulnerable groups, including children and older persons.

The response further encompassed the distribution of ready-to-eat meals, implemented in coordination with relevant authorities, to address urgent food and basic needs during the initial phase of displacement.

These interventions demonstrate HAND’s commitment to a timely, principled, and field-driven humanitarian response, grounded in humanitarian principles and focused on safeguarding dignity, safety, and immediate needs in high-impact locations.

HAND continues to monitor population movements, conduct ongoing needs assessments, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders, with the aim of adapting and scaling up the response in line with the evolving humanitarian context in Aleppo.
