In a country affected by years of conflict and displacement—where schools remain damaged and workshops closed—the Al Ghurair Growth Program offers a pathway toward recovery and resilience. It is more than a training initiative; it is an investment in young people determined to rebuild their communities.
From Rubble to Reconstruction
Building on this vision of recovery, the program places youth at the heart of Syria’s reconstruction efforts, equipping them with practical skills and tools to support rebuilding. Training goes beyond theory—it is applied directly in workshops, classrooms, and community projects that restore essential facilities.
Training Centers as Hubs of Learning
To bring this mission to life, dedicated training centers have been established across key cities. In Damascus, Homs, and Aleppo, these centers have become vibrant spaces where young people gain technical and vocational skills. They blend classroom learning with hands-on experience, preparing a new generation ready to shape its own future.
Vocational and Technical Training
Within these centers, 1,680 young men and women have received hands-on training in construction, electricity, carpentry, painting, renewable energy, and management. The program implements the “Learning to Earning” model, linking theoretical knowledge with practical application.
Rehabilitation of Educational Facilities
These skills are not just theoretical—they are immediately applied in real-world settings, including the rehabilitation of damaged schools and training facilities. Under expert supervision, trainees combine learning with tangible contributions to community recovery.
Temporary cash-for-work opportunities are provided during the rehabilitation phase. Accredited certificates are issued by the Ministries of Industry and Public Works & Housing, while career guidance and mentorship connect graduates with opportunities in both the public and private sectors.
Digital Transformation in Training
To ensure training remains accessible and future-ready, the program embraces digital transformation. It is digitizing vocational curricula and creating an online learning platform—ensuring continuous access to training, encouraging self-directed learning, and aligning with evolving labor market needs.
Strategic Partnerships
Such progress would not be possible without strong partnerships. Implemented in collaboration with the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation for Education and Syrian ministries—with HAND developing administrative curricula—the program bridges national priorities with regional support.
Together, these efforts are yielding tangible outcomes:
Building a skilled generation of youth ready to contribute to Syria’s reconstruction.
Enhancing employment and income opportunities to foster economic independence.
Developing a modern educational model that integrates technical, practical, and digital skills.
Supporting community and economic recovery through youth-led initiatives.
Ultimately, the Al Ghurair Growth Program proves that recovery is possible when young people are empowered to learn, work, and lead. By combining skills development with community engagement, the program rebuilds not only infrastructure but also human capital—laying the foundation for a more resilient future.
