To support the efforts of the Syrian Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in areas affected by the rising water levels of the Euphrates River, HAND Organization facilitated the provision of river boats alongside a convoy of food and health assistance to support affected families in the governorates of Deir ez-Zor and Ar-Raqqa.

The river boats are particularly critical in light of the growing need for safe transportation between both banks of the river following the submergence of the earthen bridge, which has significantly constrained access to several communities and complicated the delivery of assistance.

This intervention forms part of an emergency response campaign led by the Abdul Qader Sankari and Sons Humanitarian Foundation through its two implementing partners, HAND Organization and Al Rowad Foundation for Cooperation and Development.

The initiative aims to assist affected families and facilitate the timely delivery of humanitarian assistance to communities in the Al-Jazira area of rural Deir ez-Zor. The UAE stands with Syria in solidarity and support during times of need.
