Strengthening vocational training and employment pathways requires a clear understanding of local labour market needs and strong partnerships with key stakeholders. As part of its efforts to expand market-oriented vocational training, HAND visited Daraa Governorate to explore local needs and identify opportunities for collaboration in skills development and youth employability.
The HAND delegation, led by Mr. Saadettin Muvakit, Executive Director, met with Mr. Mazen Khairat, Deputy Governor of Daraa for Investment Affairs, and Mr. Mohammad Al-Omari, representing the Daraa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Discussions focused on strengthening vocational education and training (TVET), aligning skills development with labour market demand, and creating stronger pathways to employment and decent work for young people.
The visit marks a step towards strengthening collaboration with local institutions and market actors, with the aim of ensuring that vocational training responds to actual market needs and equips young people with relevant skills for sustainable career pathways.
