As part of the humanitarian response to the urgent needs arising from the renewed hostilities in Lebanon, and to support affected families in strengthening their resilience, HAND, in partnership with Plan International Lebanon and with Humanitarian funding from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Danida), is implementing the distribution of 2,500 food baskets across several areas in the Bekaa and Baalbek–Hermel governorates.
This intervention aims to help meet the essential food needs of affected households and alleviate some of the economic pressures they face following displacement and the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
“Displaced Lebanese families and Syrian refugees alike are facing yet another layer of crisis, with growing challenges in accessing basic assistance and food,” shared a displaced mother during the distribution. “We escaped our homes hoping to find safety, but now the biggest worry every day is how we will feed our children.”
