We are proud to announce the launch of a new project aimed at strengthening food security and enhancing the resilience of farmers in Zahle and Baalbek.

Amid Multilayered crises challenges that continue to place severe pressure on food security in Lebanon, HAND Organization is implementing a new intervention to support the most vulnerable households and crisis-affected farmers in the Zahle and Baalbek areas, with the generous support of the Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF).

The project will deliver integrated emergency and resilience-focused assistance through the following key activities:

Distribution of 7,500 food baskets to the most vulnerable households

Provision of emergency cash assistance to 62 farming households

Installation of solar-powered water pumping systems for 60 farmers, promoting sustainable and cost-effective agricultural practices

Implementation of awareness-raising and capacity-building sessions for 122 farmers on modern irrigation techniques and efficient water management

Implemented over a period of eight months

The project provides life-saving assistance to conflict-affected Syrian new arrivals and climate-affected farmers. It delivers food parcels to address urgent food needs, supports household stability, and preserves dignity. Cash assistance aids severely food-insecure farmers, while solar-powered pumping panels and awareness sessions improve water-use practices, optimize scarce water resources, and strengthen sustainable agricultural productivity and community resilience.
